SolidCAM is integrated CAM for machinists who program milling, turning, mill-turn, Swiss, and multiaxis work from a SOLIDWORKS model and carry it through simulation and posting.
A CAM-Part keeps machining tied to CAD geometry
SolidCAM defines operations, stock, fixtures, coordinate systems, and tool data around the SOLIDWORKS model. When design geometry changes, associativity keeps the CAM-Part connected to the revision so affected operations can be recalculated and checked in context. That is different from exporting a frozen model and maintaining a second manufacturing copy.
The integration also gives milling, turning, mill-turn, Swiss, probing, and multiaxis modules the same source geometry. Core locally installed modules for the named build are available with this offer; separately branded services and vendor-account features remain separate.
iMachining controls engagement, not just feed rate
iMachining combines toolpaths with a Technology Wizard that calculates cutting conditions and step-downs around tool, material, and machine inputs. Its purpose is to maintain controlled engagement through roughing rather than applying one aggressive feed value to every corner. The result still depends on accurate tool, holder, stock, material, and machine data.
For difficult parts, that cutting strategy sits alongside 3D HSM, simultaneous five-axis, mill-turn, Swiss, and machine simulation. Select the operation family by geometry and machine kinematics; do not treat one roughing strategy as a replacement for finishing, collision control, or a validated post.
Simulation and 3D machining mark the important release steps
| Offered release group | Milestone | Use consequence |
|---|---|---|
| SolidCAM 2021 SP5 | Introduces the unified SolidCAM Simulator and the newer ToolKit approach to complex tools. | A practical breakpoint for machine-context verification and reusable tool assemblies. |
| SolidCAM 2022 SP3 and 2023 SP3 | Extend the 2021 platform across newer SOLIDWORKS hosts and add detailed machining refinements. | Choose within this pair mainly by the required host and maintained shop environment. |
| SolidCAM 2024 SP3 | Adds Pro 3D HSM, automated undercut machining, and new multiaxis strategies. | Complex 3D surfaces and undercuts gain a more direct high-speed workflow. |
| SolidCAM 2025 SP5 | Adds GPU-accelerated machine simulation and faster rest-material and toolpath data handling. | Large verification jobs and repeated rest calculations receive the clearest offered performance step. |
| SolidCAM 2026 SP1 | Advances machine-control operations, TCP, inter-operational movement, and related automation. | Use the newest branch when those current machine-motion workflows are required. |
Windows must fit the chosen SOLIDWORKS host
| Windows version | Eligible offered releases | Host boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 11 64-bit | SolidCAM 2022 SP3, 2023 SP3, 2024 SP3, 2025 SP5, 2026 SP1 | Use a SOLIDWORKS 2022 SP2 or newer host inside the offer row. |
| Windows 10 64-bit | SolidCAM 2021 SP5, 2022 SP3, 2023 SP3, 2024 SP3, 2025 SP5 | SOLIDWORKS 2025 SP5 is the end of the Windows 10 host branch; SolidCAM 2026 is assigned to Windows 11 here. |
Machine readiness ends at the validated post
SolidCAM simulation checks the programmed process against the configured machine and workholding. The post processor then emits controller-specific NC code. Keep the post, machine definition, tool assemblies, and operation templates under the same change control as the CAM-Part; moving only the project file to a new release does not reproduce a proven machine environment.
To order, return to the available versions and prices above and select the release that fits your project.
