What is Altair Hyperworks?
Altair HyperWorks Desktop brings finite-element model preparation, meshing, result visualization, engineering plots and multibody model setup into one desktop CAE environment.
HyperMesh Model Build Connects Geometry, FE Mesh and Solver Setup
HyperMesh covers the model-preparation side of CAE work: geometry and topology cleanup, finite-element geometry, 0D through 3D meshing, part and subsystem organization, connectors, and solver-specific model setup. Its model-build workflow keeps geometry, mesh and analysis definitions together before a model is passed to a solver.
Built-in model checks help find setup problems before analysis, while the same desktop environment can carry model data forward into result review instead of treating preprocessing as an isolated step.
HyperView and HyperGraph Separate Result Review from Engineering Plots
HyperView is used to post-process simulation results and inspect model behavior visually. HyperGraph handles engineering data analysis and plotting, so curves and numerical result sets can be examined alongside the model-centric view rather than forced into a single presentation workflow.
MotionView Keeps Multibody Model Setup Alongside the FE Workflow
MotionView provides the model-building environment for multibody dynamics. It gives mechanism and motion-system setup its own workflow while remaining part of the broader HyperWorks desktop toolset used around finite-element preparation, result visualization and engineering plots.
HyperMesh Multi-Model Leads into Broader Python Automation
The offered releases include several clear workflow changes around working with multiple models and automating desktop tasks.
| Offered release | Workflow change |
|---|---|
| 2022.3.2 + Solvers | HyperMesh Multi-Model allows multiple preprocessing models to stay open in separate windows within one session. |
| 2023.1 + Solvers | Python API support arrived in HyperView and HyperGraph for core session, window, plotting and export automation. |
| 2024.1 | HyperMesh expanded its Python API with native-list inputs, tabular attribute access and additional query and modification commands. |
| 2025.0 | HyperMesh added Python API Recording to capture GUI actions and selections as reusable, parameterizable Python code. |
Windows 11 Spans Every Offer; Windows 10 Stops Before 2026.1
